"観光(Kan-ko)" is a Japanese word that means "sightseeing" or "touring." "観(Kan)" means seeing. "光(Ko)" means light. The word "観光(Kan-ko)" is originated in a passage, '国の光を観る。用て王に賓たるに利し,' from 易経, Chinese classic literature. Kanazawa, Japan, where I live in is one of the major sightseeing areas in Japan. I wonder that the word "観光(Kan-ko)" is not the limited meaning of "visiting and seeing at a scenic place." There is a scene to be seen everywhere. I feel a kind of light in the culture created by people's activities and the passage of time. The little encounters that make me move.
